Flikr makes saving and organizing pictures simple. I scrapbook so being able to tag and organize photos makes my life so much more easy. I also like that you can edit and crop photos without having to have a photoshop program. I wasn't as familiar with flikr as picasa. My mother uploads hundreds of pictures to picasa on her PC and she has shown me a few things it can do. I think they are fairly similar, but picasa seems to be easier to navigate in my opinion. 

On a professional level, libraries should begin using photo tools like picasa or flikr to reach out to patrons. Pictures are really worth a thousand words, and it would show the community what libraries have to offer.
